Join the Peace and Justice Committee

The Peace and Justice Committee (formerly the Political Action Committee) is actively seeking your participation! There is already one subcommittee organizing to support fair trade (Lead by Jane Dow). And there is another committee forming to reform family law (Lead by Charlie Hurd).

 

You might be wondering about the purpose, scope and size of this committee. Fortunately the national UCC website provides guidance at http://www.ucc.org/justice/issues.html.  There are six broad areas of interest listed there, including Civil and Human Rights, Economic Justice, Global Concerns, Integrity of Creation (Environment), Peacemaking, and Racial Justice.

 

If you are interested in any of these areas, you can view the issues under each heading at the website or call Mike Daly (507-381-9518) or Charlie Hurd (507-386-0047) for more information on the issues, if you don't have web access. In any case, call Mike or Charlie if you would like to work on a particular issue, and we will put you in touch with others with similar concerns. What happens with the Peach and Justice Committee is up to you!
